Meghna for Diamond Girl 2017

Welcome to our blog!

Here, we will be sharing information about each candidate for Fall 2017's philanthropy! So stay tuned throughout this week to continue getting to know more about our candidates!

Our philanthropy will be tanking place from October 25-27th, 2017. We will be hosting different events throughout the week in order to raise money and awareness for our national philanthropies: Speech and Hearing and Painted Turtle Camp. All of our profit will go to our national philanthropy partner: Starkey Hearing Foundation. Starkey is a charitable organization that provides the gift of hearing to people in need. They have been serving in over a hundred countries for almost four decades.

Along with our commitment to raise funds for this noble cause, we will also be hosting a competition for one individual from each fraternity/sorority to run for our Diamond Stud and Diamond Girl positions. The events throughout the week, as well as the tournament, will all be opportunities for each house to earn points for their candidate to win the title of Diamond Stud/Girl.

Our first candidate is Meghna Negi!

Meghna joined Alpha Omicron Pi in Fall '15! She is currently enrolled in her third year and is majoring in Biomedical Engineering. She hopes that her major will help her to fulfill her career aspirations of advancing and developing medical technology.

Her favorite animal is a turtle and her interests include swimming, watching sports, hanging out with her sisters, and catching up on sleep. She is a HUGE Warriors, Giants, Sharks, and Raiders fan.

Meghna is also a lifeguard and swim instructor, which allows her to work with kids with a wide range of disabilities. Some of these kids have speech impediments, which is why she is excited to raise money and awareness for Starkey Hearing Foundation!

Meghna is extremely excited to be running for our philanthropy and cannot wait to get to know more of the ladies of Delta Zeta!
